John Elia was a famous Pakistani poet and his real name was Syed John Asghar. He was from Amrohy, India, nowadays Uttar Pradesh As the name implies.

John Elia became very famous in  “Urdu sad poetry”, John Elia's father's name was Shafiq Hassan Elia.

Allama Shafiq Hassan Elia was a religious scholar and he spoke Arabic, Persian, and Tabarani. John Elia was born on December 14, 1931.

 John Elia migration and educational status:

Academically, John Elia had an MA. And besides Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, French, and Sanskrit.

He was also fluent in the language. And he emigrated to Pakistan in 1956 and spent the rest of his life here.

Marriage and family status:

John Elia was married in 1970 to Zahida Hina, a well-known journalist.

She still writes on social issues in Jang and Express. She gave birth to 3 children, including 2 daughters and a son. They divorced in 1992۔
